What colour shade will it be?There’s a lot of question that might be going through your head. Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as you might think. We’ve shared our top tips on what you should expect when getting a spray tan…

It’s completely your choice as to what you wear during your spray tan. When you enter the room, you’ll be asked to undress to whatever level of clothing you are comfortable with – whether this is fully naked, in your underwear or a singlet on. You can leave as much clothing on as you like, just remember that the areas that are not sprayed will have a distinctive tan line.

...Will I Go Orange?

it’s a question we get asked quite often. Nowadays tan solutions are green or purple based therefore orange tans are a thing of the past!

How Dark Will The Tan Be?

The therapist will ask what colour (light to heavy) you would like to go – and they will get the best solution to suit your choice. If you are unsure how dark you would like to go, you can always ask the therapist for their advice.

How Long Does It Take?

The entire tanning process usually takes around 10 minutes to complete.

What Happens During The Tan?

The therapist will direct you on how to stand as they use the tanning spray gun to mist the tan to each part of the body. Be warned – the solution might be cold at first. Once the therapist has completed the tan, they will leave you with a warm air blower that you can use to dry the tan. Use the air blower until you feel dry before getting dressed.

Aftercare

Once you are dressed in loose clothing, you will need to leave the tan on for the required development time – this may range from 1 to 8 hours depending on the tanning solution. Once you have showered, your skin will feel like normal skin again. Over the coming days, make sure you moisturise to ensure that your tan lasts for longer and that the colour remains the same. When you would like to remove the tan, start exfoliation and it will come off.
